Christian Sundermann

Christian Sundermann (born March 3, 1958 in Berlin ) is a German civil servant ( SPD ) and from August 2009 to January 31, 2012 State Secretary in the Senate Department for Finance in the State of Berlin. Before that, he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the State of Saxony-Anhalt from 2006 to 2009 .

Life and work

After studying law , political science and modern history, he graduated in 1988 with a degree in political science from the Free University of Berlin . In 1990 he received his doctorate. phil. and was from January 1991 to July 1994 personal advisor to the SPD parliamentary group leader of Saxony-Anhalt, Reinhard Höppner . From January 1998 to June 2003 Sundermann worked in the state representation of Saxony-Anhalt in Berlin , where he was head of the department from September 1999. From July 2003 to June 2005 Sundermann was delegated to the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing , Construction East Department. Subsequently, until the change of government in April 2006, he was head of the central and legal department in the Saxony-Anhalt Ministry of Economics and Labor.

Sundermann is married and has two children.

Offices

After the state elections in 1994 and the red-green coalition tolerated by the PDS (see Magdeburg model ), Sundermann was head of the office of Prime Minister Reinhard Höppner until December 1997. After the state elections in 2006 , a black-red coalition was formed . Sundermann then became State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance headed by Jens Bullerjahn . On February 18, 2009, Christian Sundermann went into temporary retirement after irreconcilable differences of opinion with Jens Bullerjahn .

On July 14, 2009 it was announced that Sundermann will succeed Klaus Teichert (SPD) as State Secretary for Finance in Berlin from August 1, 2009. On January 31, 2012 Sundermann was again put into temporary retirement. His successor at the Senate Department for Finance of the State of Berlin was Margaretha Sudhof on February 1, 2012 .
