Helmut Tybussek (born April 10, 1936 - † December 25, 2019 in Münster ) was a German football player . The defender made 14 league games and scored one goal in the debut round of the Bundesliga in 1963/64 at Preußen Münster .
Career
From the amateur league Hamburg, from Lüneburger SK , Tybussek , who was mostly used as a left defender in the World Cup system at the time, came to the first-class football league West in Prussia Münster for the round 1957/58 . He made his debut with the "Eagle Bearers" on September 15, 1957 in a 1-1 home draw against Hamborn 07 in the league. At the side of high performers such as goalkeeper Herbert Eiteljörge , Siegfried Rachuba , Edelbert Rey , Adolf Scheidt and Rudolf Schulz , the newcomer from Lüneburg played 14 league games under coach Günther Hentschke and the Prussians took 6th place. From his second Prussian season, 1958/59, he was always a member of the close core formation in the Oberliga West until 1962/63. In the decisive round of nominations in 1962/63 for the new Bundesliga, which started in 1963/64, the reliable and strong duel defender was not missing in any league game. He was even able to distinguish himself as a five-time goalscorer when he reached fourth rank by converting five penalty kicks. The 0-0 home draw on November 25, 1962 in front of 35,000 spectators against eventual German champions 1. FC Köln was one of the highlights of the last first-class league season. Together with goalkeeper Eiteljörge, defender colleague Heribert Kania and the runner row with Dagmar Drewes , Klaus Bockisch and Werner Lungwitz , he had mainly formed the strong defensive of the Prussians this season. Overall, Tybussek played 154 league games at Münster from 1957 to 1963 and scored five goals.
For the new concentration of performance in top German football, three new strikers came to Münster with Karl-Heinz Bente , Karl-Heinz Kiß and Manfred Rummel . Coach Richard Schneider's team started the Bundesliga era on August 24, 1963 with a home game against the series champions of Northern Germany, Hamburger SV. In front of 30,000 spectators, Falk Dörr brought the hosts 1-0 lead in the 70th minute, and HSV left winger Gert Dörfel equalized with a header (!) In the 86th minute . Captain Tybussek defended with Heinz-Rüdiger Voss and the Münster defense confirmed their good reputation in the Bundesliga. Meidericher SV, who surprisingly started 4-0 in the Bundesliga, came to Münster for the second home game on September 7th. “But the Prussians bought the MSV offensive with iron-hard man coverage early on,” is reported in the 1963/64 Chronicle. Defender Tybussek converted a penalty in the 71st minute to give the hosts a 4-0 lead. The hits from Helmut Rahn (85th) and Heinz Versteeg (89th) were only enough to improve the result. The basis for the 4-0 lead was the defensive formation in great shape, with Tybussek "Boss" Rahn chaining for 85 minutes. A negative series from the seventh match day with 3:15 points brought Münster to 15th place at the end of the first half of the season with 10:20 points. Since Hertha BSC won the home game against Munich 1860 3-1 on the penultimate round match day, April 25, 1964, Münster was relegated after the 2-4 defeat at Werder Bremen. The final success with 4-2 on May 9 against Hertha didn't change anything. One point behind the tied Hertha BSC and Karlsruher SC, Münster was relegated from the Bundesliga with 23:37 points. Eiteljörge, Kania, Tybussek, Drewes, Bockisch and Lungwitz had formed the defensive formation of the Prussians again on the last day of the game. With 52 goals conceded, Münster was not one of the worst defensive ranks, but the offensive with only 34 goals scored the fewest goals in the first Bundesliga round. Tybussek was used in 14 Bundesliga matches (1 goal).
After the descent, the Prussians went on a multi-week trip to the Far East. The first destination was Hong Kong, then it went to Singapore, on to Sydney, New Zealand, back to Adelaide, Melbourne, the Fiji Islands, a four-day stay in Tahiti and then the return flight from the USA. On August 9, 1964, Münster started the 1964/65 regional league season with Tybussek and teammates with a 2-0 home win against Wuppertaler SV. Tybussek fought the WSV right winger Manfred Reichert . With Klaus Ackermann a promising attacking talent had been hired by the Prussians. The games against the later champions and Bundesliga promoted Borussia Mönchengladbach were outstanding . Münster lost the home game in the first half of the season in front of 28,000 spectators 0: 1, in the second half of the season the team of coach Hennes Weisweiler defied a goalless 0: 0 in the Bökelberg Stadium. Tybussek completed 28 league games, but the Prussians did not get beyond the 8th rank. In the 1965/66 season, Erwin Kostedde, a great talent in attack, made his debut , but even now it was not enough for the longed-for entry into the Bundesliga promotion round. Tybussek had played 26 league games and scored one goal by reaching 6th rank. In his third regional league season, 1966/67, he came under the Yugoslav coach Provoslav Mihajlović only seven missions and ended in the summer of 1967 his career. He also played a total of 3 games in the DFB Cup .
