Helmut Wegscheider is a former German ski jumper .

Wegscheider made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1958/59 . However, he could not land in any of the competitions on top places. The best place was a 25th place in Bischofshofen . He started the Four Hills Tournament in 1959/60 with a 14th place in Oberstdorf . After a 36th place in Partenkirchen, only two 30th places followed in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen. At the Four Hills Tournament in 1960/61 in Innsbruck he achieved eighth place, his best individual result to date. He was unable to build on these touring successes until 1966. In 1962 he became the German individual jumping champion in Braunlage . A year later at the German championship in Ruhpolding in 1963 , he jumped a new hill record of 101 meters on the Zirnbergschanze, which had been opened a year earlier, but could not win the competition despite this distance. In the same year Wegscheider also jumped a new hill record on the Wurmbergschanze in Braunlage with 74.5 meters.

Today Wegscheider is an official at the German Ski Association .
