Helmut Weidelener

Helmut Weidelener (* 8. December 1937 in Biberach ; † 15. May 2017 in Dresden ) was district president of the government district of Dresden .

biography

Weidelener graduated from 1957 to 1961 with a law degree and received his doctorate in 1964. He became government vice-president of the administrative district of Upper Franconia . After reunification, he was appointed regional president of the Dresden administrative district in 1991 and was largely responsible for establishing this authority, which emerged from the Dresden District Council. He held this office until 2000, and was succeeded by Henry Hasenpflug . Weidelener then worked again as a lawyer in Dresden and Munich specializing in administrative law.

From 1989 to 2004 Weidelener was President of the Federal Association of German Registrars. Since 2001 he has been chairman of the board of directors and from 2007 to 2016 chairman of the foundation council of the Dresden community foundation , since 2002 a member of the donation council of the German Red Cross . Weidelener has been President of the DRK regional association of Saxony since 2006. He was also vice-president of the Dresden Ullersdorf eV golf club , first chairman of the support group of the St. Marienthal international meeting center and chairman of the supervisory board of the Radeburg rehabilitation clinic .

In October 2003, Weidelener received the Order of Merit on the ribbon of the Federal Order of Merit . During Weidelen's tenure as President of the Federal Association, the law on personal status was introduced in the acceding area.
