Helmut Wessel-Therhorn
Helmut Wessel-Therhorn (born May 3, 1927 in Münster ; † September 3, 2012 there ) was a German conductor .
Career
Wessel-Therhorn studied at the Detmold Music Academy from 1952 to 1961 . From 1961 he worked as Kapellmeister at the Münster Municipal Theaters and from 1961 to 1964 in the same function at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden .
Further stations were the Landestheater Coburg from 1964 to 1967 , the Stadttheater Mainz from 1967 to 1973 (Wessel-Therhorn was General Music Director here for the first time ), from 1973 to 1981 the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and then the Essen Opera in the Grillo Theater .
