Helmut Winkler

Helmut Winkler (born October 2, 1900 in Flensburg ; † January 1, 1983 ) was a German textile entrepreneur.

Career

Winkler was born as the son of the entrepreneur Gustav Winkler . After graduating from high school in 1917, he was drafted into military service. He completed his studies with a PhD. rer. pole. from. Later he took over the textile factory founded by his father in Gretenberg (Silesia). After the Second World War he came to Baden as a refugee . Starting in 1948, he set up two large textile companies in the Lauffenmühle spinning mill in Lauchringen , which his father had acquired before the war (1935), and the handkerchief weaving mill in Blumberg , in which he almost exclusively employed refugees. Later other locations such as Greiff-Werke Gustav Winkler KG in Bamberg and Taschentuch-Werke Gustav Winkler KG in Bielefeld were added. He and his family moved into the house above the Wutach in the Tiengener district.

He was also an advisory board member of the Freiburg branch of Deutsche Bank .
