The Helsenhorn is at 3272 m above sea level. M. the highest point in the municipality of Grengiols . It is located near the Italian border between the Hillehorn and the Scherbadung (Pizzo Cervandone) in the canton of Valais , Switzerland . The classic route leads from Heiligkreuz in Binntal to Chummesee over the Ritterpass and the Helsegletscher to the Helsenhorn. Below its 700 meter deep west flank is the Chriegalp Pass, which is prone to rockfall, with its huge rock glacier.
Mountain range
The mountain is located in the Monte-Leone-Blinnenhorn group of the Valais Alps, which is described here separately as the Leone group .
First ascent
There is evidence that the mountain was first climbed in 1887 by Johann Jakob Weilenmann .
