history

The church in Wietzen had goods in Helzendorf around 1100. The Bünkemühle farm belonged to the Bücken Abbey and served the provost as quarters. The Wüstenei court plays a role in the founding legend of the Bücken Abbey. Both farms will have existed when the monastery was founded around the year 886. From 1700 to 1977 there was a school in Helzendorf. Since the municipality reform, which came into force on March 1, 1974, Helzendorf has been part of the municipality of Warpe .
