Hemma dirt

Hemma Schmutz (* 1966 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian art and culture manager . Since May 2017 she has been artistic director of the Lentos Art Museum Linz and the Nordico City Museum .

Life

Schmutz spent her childhood and youth in Sankt Georgen am Längsee . From 1984 she studied art history and German at the University of Vienna . From 1992 to 1993 she was the deputy managing director of Galerie 5020 in Salzburg and from 1994 to 1997 she worked on setting up the depot. Art and discussion in Vienna . She then worked as a research assistant and curator at the Generali Foundation in Vienna. From 2005 to 2013, Schmutz was director of the Salzburg Art Association .

Schmutz taught at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and was a member of the advisory board of the cultural department of Lower Austria.

Between 2015 and 2017 she was in charge of the Lakeside art space in Klagenfurt. Since May 2017 she has been artistic director of the Lentos Art Museum Linz and the Nordico City Museum.
