Hendrik Berth

Hendrik Berth (born August 23, 1970 in Rodewisch ) is a German psychologist and professor at the Medical Faculty of the Technical University of Dresden.

Life

After graduating from the Goethe-Gymnasium in Reichenbach in 1989, Berth studied psychology at the Technical University of Dresden from 1991 to 1996 . From 1996 to 2000 he worked in Dresden as a research assistant at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (Institute for Educational Psychology and Developmental Psychology). Since 2000 he has been a research assistant at the Medical Faculty of the TU Dresden (medical psychology and medical sociology / psychosocial medicine and developmental neurosciences). In 2003 he was promoted to Dr. rer. medic. doctorate, followed by his habilitation in 2009 . In 2015 he was appointed adjunct professor. From 2010 to 2016 Berth was acting head of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden .

Services

Berth's research focuses on transformation research, content analysis , psychodiagnostics , the processing of chronic illnesses, psychosocial aspects of human genetics , teaching and learning research, psychonephrology, fear of dental treatment , preoperative fear, or the connections between unemployment and health. He is one of the directors of the Saxon longitudinal study . His research has received several awards, including the doctoral award from the German College for Psychosomatic Medicine.

Memberships

Hendrik Berth is a member of the German Society for Psychology , the German Society for Medical Psychology , the Professional Association of German Psychologists , the German University Association and the Association for Psychosocial Aspects of Human Genetics , of which he has been 1st Chairman since 2016.
