Hendrik Koekoek (born May 22, 1912 in Hollandscheveld ; † February 8, 1987 in Bennekom ) was a Dutch farmer and politician . Boer Koekoek (Farmer Kuckuck) sat in the second chamber of the Dutch parliament from 1963 to 1981 for the right-wing protest party Boerenpartij , which he co-founded .

Koekoek originally belonged to the Christian-conservative Christelijk-Historische Unie (CHU) and was the top candidate of the Nederlandse Oppositie Unie in the 1956 elections (unsuccessful) . He entered the Chamber with the Boerenpartij in 1963, reaching its climax in 1967 with seven MPs. The other parliamentary parties were very hostile to the Boerenpartij. Most recently, the party was represented by only one MP, Koekoek. When he died in 1987, former MP Koekoek was not remembered in the chamber. Koekoek also sat for some time in the provincial states of Gelderland and on the town council of Ede .

Koekoek and Vader Abraham with the joint gold plate 1974

In the wake of the oil crisis , Koekoek and Vader Abraham recorded a mocking song , sung on an old folk song. Den Uyl is in den olie with a refrain that the Social Democratic Prime Minister Joop den Uyl is drunk and "gets hit on the lid" came first on the Dutch charts in February 1974 . The carnival song made Koekoek, who sang part of the chorus, the oldest hit parade in the country at the age of 61.

From 1942 Koekoek was married to Theodora Geertruida van Zetten. His brother-in-law Jan de Groote was a member of the First Chamber for the Boerenpartij .
