Hendrikje Wangemann

Hendrikje Wangemann (* 1961 in Kropstädt ) is a German singer ( soprano ).

Life

Hendrikje Wangemann's mother was a choir singer. Wangemann received private singing lessons from Lotte Taubenreuther . Then she studied with Eva Schubert and Christa Noack at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music in Leipzig . She was also tutored by Věnceslava Hrubá-Freiberger and Hermann Christian Polster . During her studies she made her debut at the Landestheater Halle as Armida in Handel's Rinaldo .

From 1987 to 1991 she was a member of the opera ensemble there. During this time she regularly took part in the Halle Handel Festival ; 1994 again in the opera Flavio . There she sang u. a. in Rinaldo (Armida), Tamerlano (Asteria), Rigoletto (Gilda), Figaros Hochzeit (Susanna), Fidelio (Marzellini), Falstaff (Nannetta) and Carmen (Micaela). In 1991 she moved to the Leipzig Opera ( lyric soprano ). Here she took on roles such as La Bohème (Musetta), Così fan tutte (Despina), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), Le Grand Macabre (Amanda), Greek (Mum), Die Nase (pretzel seller) and Rigoletto (Countess Ceprano). In 1997 she was involved in the world premiere of Jörg Herchets Abraum . Guest performances led her a. a. to Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Poland. She also worked as a concert singer.

In 2006 she became a lecturer and in 2008 professor at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden . She has been the Dean of Studies since 2010.
