Henk van Riemsdijk

Young man Hendrik Abraham Cornelis van Riemsdijk (born January 10, 1911 in Aerdenhout , † November 8, 2005 in Waalre ) was a Dutch entrepreneur. From 1971 to 1977 he was CEO of the electronics company Philips .

Career

Van Riemsdijk joined the Philips Group on May 1, 1934 and was initially employed in the amplifier and cinema department. In 1938 he married the daughter of the company president Anton Philips . After spending a year in the United States , he took on a role in the Group's sales organization and was its deputy director from 1946. On May 1, 1956, he was appointed chief executive of the group, moved to the board of the "NV Philips Gloeilampenfabrieken" in 1963 and to the board of the group as a whole in 1968. After his brother-in-law, Frits Philips, withdrew from operations, he became CEO of the group. He was the last member of the Philips family in this position.
