Res Strehle
Andreas "Res" Strehle (born March 25, 1951 in Zurich ) is a Swiss journalist and author . Until the end of 2015 he was editor-in-chief of the Tages-Anzeiger .
Life
Res Strehle is the son of a lawyer and judge Division, studied at the University of St. Gallen economics and a doctorate in 1978 there with Silvio Borner about interdisciplinarity in the social sciences . He was then responsible for media work at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute in Rüschlikon .
In 1981 he was one of the founders of WOZ Die Wochenzeitung , which maintains a profiled Marxist analysis of society. When the WOZ procured its own typesetting machines (computers) in 1986, Strehle belonged to the so-called “action group against computer rule”, which rejected computers for ideological reasons and saw computers as the capitalist method of technological class struggle.
From 1985 he worked as a freelance author and lecturer at various universities.
Strehle later worked as a journalist for the news magazine Facts .
From 1998 he was head of the economic Weltwoche , then deputy editor, and later editor in chief and director of the magazine of the Tages-Anzeiger .
From May 1, 2009 to November 2012, Strehle was co-editor-in-chief of the Tages-Anzeiger with Markus Eisenhut . From November 6, 2012 to January 3, 2016, Strehle headed the combined editorial team of the Tages-Anzeiger , which includes the previous editorial team of the newspaper and the editorial team of the Newsnet news network . Since January 2016 he has been a freelance TA employee, book author, Tamedia consultant for journalistic projects (quality management), president of the Swiss journalism school MAZ in Lucerne, board member of the Solothurn Film Festival and sits on the advisory board of "Reporters Without Borders", German-speaking Switzerland.
In February / March 2013, Philipp Gut published a series of articles in the weekly magazine Die Weltwoche , in which Strehle was alleged, among other things, that he had contacts with the militant left-wing extremism scene in the 1980s and 1990s . Strehle spoke with regard to the allegations of "political campaign journalism" and submitted a complaint to the Swiss press council against Weltwoche . On June 20, 2013, the press council stated, among other things, that Weltwoche had violated Strehle's personality and privacy through its reporting. «With the publication of the two articles, Weltwoche has also violated paragraphs 1 (truth), 3 (distortion of facts) and 7 (privacy) of the 'Declaration' by using the 'Declaration' of violent acts and events from the 1980s without sufficient evidence Bringing the life of Res Strehle into context ”, it says in the statement.
Res Strehle lives in Zurich and has a grown son.
