Cornelis van der Klugt (born March 30, 1925 in Haarlem ; † January 6, 2012 ) was a Dutch manager.

Life

Klugt studied economics , but had to break off his studies in 1943 due to the war . In 1950 he became an employee of NV Philips' "Gloeilampenfabrieken" in Eindhoven . In 1960 he joined the Philips organization in Chile as an assistant director . In 1963 he was appointed director of Philips Uruguay , followed in 1968 by the post of commercial director of Philips Brazil . In early 1981 he was appointed general director of the same organization. From July 1978 Klugt was on the board of Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken . In 1982 he became vice president and deputy chairman of the global corporation. In the spring of 1985, the previous chairman of the board, Wisse Dekker , stepped down and Klugt became the new chairman until Jan Timmer took over from him in 1990 .
