A circular hiking trail leads from Tragwein ( 491  m above sea level ) into the valley of the Kettenbach and from there steeply up over the Hennberg and back to Tragwein. From Bad Zell the Brandtnerhöhe - Waltersberg hiking trail also leads into the valley of the Kettenbach and over the Hennberg back to Bad Zell.

The southern slope is forested, the flatter northern side is used for agriculture. The second name is related to the name of the Waltersberger farm located there . At the foot of the steep eastern slope, where the hiking trails cross the main road to Bad Zell , there is the Stögmühl (423 m) and an old wayside shrine on the Kettenbach . A side road runs in a ditch to the west of the mountain and leads to scattered hamlets .
