Henningerode is a hamlet-like district of Mackenrode (Eichsfeld district) in Thuringia .

The district of Henningerode is located immediately south of Mackenrode on Landesstraße 1004 in the northern foothills of the Gobert with the Frauenberg (411 m) in the east and the Brandberg (395 m) in the west in the border area with Hesse .

history

Henningerode was first mentioned in a document on December 26, 1284. Until 1821 the place belonged to the Hessian office Allendorf . After the Second World War , the former Hessian village of Henningerode was added to the Soviet occupation zone by the Wanfried Agreement and thus became part of the GDR . From 1961 until reunification , Mackenrode was affected by the closure of the nearby inner-German border . In 1974 Henningerode was incorporated into Mackenrode.
