Henning von Arnim

Henning von Arnim (born April 14, 1916 in Charlottenburg ; † May 5, 1990 in Saarbrücken ) was a regional finance president.

Henning Friedrich Joachim von Arnim was born on April 14, 1916 in what was then still independent Charlottenburg (now Berlin). His father was the imperial frigate captain Joachim Hans Detleff von Arnim (1876–1933) on Wilhelmsthal, Pomerania , his mother was Asta Countess von Baudissin (1888–1968), the daughter of the imperial admiral Friedrich Graf von Baudissin . Henning von Arnim died on May 5, 1990 in Saarbrücken.

Career

After graduating from high school, he did his military service and remained a soldier because of the war that had broken out in the meantime. At the end of the war he had the rank of major.

He then studied law first in Heidelberg , then in Kiel , where he received his doctorate degree in 1951 with the dissertation “The protection of the constitution in the Bonn Basic Law, a comparison with the Reich constitution of 1919”. jur. received his doctorate.

After the second state examination in law, he was hired as a civil servant in the higher service in 1952 at the federal tax administration. He rose quickly within this administration and finally became president of the Saarbrücken regional finance office in 1972 . He remained in this position until his retirement in 1981.

In addition to his full-time activity as chief financial officer , he also worked as a part-time lecturer in European law at the University of Saarbrücken .

After his death he was in the family grave in the Burgtorfriedhof in Lübeck buried .

Honors

Henning von Arnim was an honorary knight of the Order of St. John . He was also awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
