Hermann Barrelet
Hermann Joseph Barrelet (* 25. September 1879 in Neuchâtel , † unknown) was a French rower who in 1900 first Olympic champion in the one was.
Barrelet started for the Sport Nautique d' Enghien club . At the 1900 Olympic Games , five rowers competed for the finals, four French and one British. The French European champion from 1899, Louis Prével, gave up on the way. Barrelet won the race in 7: 35.6 minutes (track length: 1750 m) with six seconds ahead of André Gaudin , half a minute behind the Briton Saint George Ashe took third place.
At the Olympiarevanche, the European Championship in 1900, Prével won, Barrelet did not take part. In 1901 in Zurich Barrelet was then European champion.
