Henri Dabadie
Henri Célestin Louis Dabadie (born December 1, 1867 in Pau , † October 19, 1949 in Saint-Mandé ) was a French landscape painter, also active in French regions outside of Europe.
Dabadie was a student of Jules-Élie Delaunay and Henri Michel-Lévy. After completing his studies, he devoted himself to Impressionist landscape painting, initially in Brittany . He also created port views of Rotterdam and Hamburg . Thanks to the Prix Abd-el-Tif he won, he spent a few years in Algeria and also visited Tunisia. In 1928 he won the Indochina Colonial Prize and has worked in Indochina ever since. In Hanoi he taught at the art academy directed by Victor Tardieu.
From 1894 he exhibited in the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français and received a 3rd class medal in 1895 and a 2nd class medal in 1901.
He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
The picture he painted of President Fallière celebrated by his compatriots caused an unexpected sensation.
