Henri Jeanson

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Henri Jeanson (born March 6, 1900 in Paris , France , † November 7, 1970 in Équemauville , France) was a French screenwriter.

Life

Henri Jeanson's strengths were primarily pointed dialogues, especially in pre-war French films. After working as a radio and film critic and journalist, Jeanson was hired by the French Paramount studio as a dialogue writer. Working on Pépé le Moko , directed by Julien Duvivier, marked the beginning of a successful career as a screenwriter, often in collaboration with other writers, with Jeanson primarily responsible for the dialogues. During the time of the occupation by the German Wehrmacht in World War II , Jeanson went into hiding at times, but continued to write scripts.
