The three truths (original title: Le Puits aux trois vérités ) is a French-Italian feature film by François Villiers , which came in 1961 (in German 1962) in the cinemas. action
After a violent argument with her husband, the young painter Laurent Lénaud, Danièle Plèges is found dead in her apartment. With the help of the diary of the deceased and the statements of her mother Renée, the police are trying to solve the death. Meanwhile, Lénaud serves up his version of the events to his lover. Nobody lies, and yet three different truths emerge, depending on whether you follow Danièle, her mother or her husband's point of view.
reception
“He knows how to handle flashbacks delicately, and a dancing clavicord motif seamlessly joins together what is artistically seen from the perspectives of the three people involved. The actress Catherine Spaak as Danielle, like a childish Jeanne Moreau protesting against erotic cynicism with the most economical gestures, is a silent sensation. "
