Sydler belonged to FC Cantonal Neuchâtel , which was created on September 4, 1906 as a merger of FC Vignoble with FC Neuchâtel .

During the current 1906/07 season he moved to Freiburg FC , for which he played point games in the championship organized by the Association of South German Football Associations in the regional top division, in the Upper Rhine Gau , one of three Gau districts in the southern district. From this emerged victorious with his team, he also took part in the subsequent final round of the South District , which was also won and entitled to participate in the final round of the South German Championship . After the first and second leg of the semi-final against 1. Hanauer FC 1893 was won 1-0 on April 14 and 21, 1907, Freiburg FC reached the final. At 1.
