Career

Benčík, who played for FC Nitra and AS Trenčín in his youth , began his professional career in 2000 at Artmedia Petržalka . In 2002, the center forward moved to Turkey for Denizlispor for a year . In the first half of the 2003/04 season he played for the Czech club FK Teplice and met in the UEFA Cup, among others, 1. FC Kaiserslautern , against whom he scored two goals; his club progressed 3-1 on the aggregate. During the winter break, Benčík moved to Germany for LR Ahlen in the second division . He scored four times in 14 missions and at the end of the season switched to league rivals 1. FC Saarbrücken , for whom he played for the next two years. After the descent of the Saarlanders in the 2005/06 season, he left the club after 61 league games and 20 goals and joined the second division club SC Freiburg . In the following two seasons he was used 49 times for the Breisgauer and also scored 9 goals, but most of the time he was only a substitute in the joker role and rarely played for the entire 90 minutes.

For the 2008/09 season he moved to the second division promoted FSV Frankfurt . At the end of August 2009, however, the contract was terminated by mutual agreement and he moved to VfL Osnabrück . In January 2013 Bencik signed a contract with his former club FC Nitra; he returned to Germany in September 2013 when third division Wacker Burghausen signed him . After relegation to the regional league in summer 2014, he ended his active career.

For the Slovak national team Benčík completed eleven games, but remained without a goal.
