Henrik Fisker (born August 10, 1963 in Denmark ) is an automotive designer and managing director of Fisker Coachbuild LLC , part of the Fisker Automotive joint venture . Well-known works by him are the BMW Z8 and the Aston Martin DB9 .

Fisker studied at the Swiss branch of the Art Center College of Design in California until 1989 . After completing his studies, he started working at BMW's Munich design center . There he was responsible for the Z07 sports car study shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1997, which served as the basis for the later production model BMW Z8. In 2000 he became President and CEO of DesignworksUSA , a BMW subsidiary in California.

In 2001 he moved to Ford to be responsible for the design of Aston Martin . Here he designed the DB9 and the V8 Vantage . At Aston Martin he also sat on the board of directors. In 2003 he became head of Ford's Global Advanced Design Studio in Irvine, California.

He later left Ford to set up his own business with Bernhard Köhler under the company name Fisker Coachbuild LLC . On the basis of series vehicles such as the BMW 6 Series or the Mercedes-Benz SL , they produce their own designs by hand.

In addition to his own company, Fisker is also active in contract work, such as in 2007 for Artega and Tesla Motors . There he worked on the body design for a planned four-door plug-in hybrid. At the end of 2007, Fisker then founded the Fisker Automotive joint venture with Quantum Technologies . The company develops the Fisker Karma , a four-door plug-in hybrid sedan. He was sued by Tesla Motors in 2008 for industrial espionage. Tesla Motors says Fisker accepted the $ 875,000 contract to get secret information from Tesla.

In mid-2018, Fisker joins the innovation platform motec ventures as an advisory board member .
