Henry Gawlick

Henry Gawlick (born July 25, 1958 in Dömitz ) is the director of the Museum for Everyday Culture of the Griesen area and the Old Synagogue in Hagenow in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district .

Life

Henry Gawlick grew up in Neustadt-Glewe and attended the EOS in Ludwigslust , where he passed the Abitur. From 1979 to 1982 he studied art and history at the University of Leipzig . After four years as a circle leader for folk art in Stavenhagen , Henry Gawlick became an employee of the city museum in Hagenow in 1986. From 1988 to 1994 he was a research assistant at the Wossidlo archive at the University of Rostock . In 1994 he was appointed director of the museum in Hagenow. Under his leadership, the museum was successfully geared towards researching Jewish history in Hagenow. In 2012, Henry Gawlick received the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Culture Prize .
