Henry Kaufmann (born August 9, 1961 in Hochheim am Main ) is a former German handball player and coach . He became German champion with SG Wallau / Massenheim .

Career

The businessman, who was used as a circle runner and left backcourt player , began playing handball at the TG Hochheim when he was eight. In 1980 he moved to the Bundesliga club SG Dietzenbach . In 1983 he was relegated with the club. Due to financial difficulties, however, you had to start in the district league. Kaufmann then switched to TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen and continued to play in the Bundesliga. After two years he joined the second division club SG Wallau / Massenheim. By the end of his professional career in 1993, after his promotion in 1987, he won two German championships with the club ( 1992 and 1993 ), the DHB Cup in 1993 and the IHF Cup in 1992 . A victory in the European Cup was narrowly missed in 1993 in the final against Badel Zagreb . From 1993 to 1996 he played in the second team and made a short Bundesliga comeback in 1995. In 2001 he was reactivated for the third team of the TV Wicker and also played for several years for the senior team of the HSG Hochheim / Wicker.

In the successful 1992/93 season of SG Wallau-Massenheim, Kaufmann acted as Heiner Brand's assistant coach .
