Henryk Goldberg

Henryk Goldberg (born April 15, 1949 in Erfurt ) is a German journalist , film critic and theater critic .

Life

Henryk Goldberg grew up in Erfurt . His father Chaskiel Goldberg came as a Polish Jew via Auschwitz and Buchenwald to the Dora subcamp and, after his liberation, settled in Thuringia as a Polish citizen. As a victim of fascism , Chaskiel was later granted a pension by the GDR and he was able to buy a house. In 1957, when Henryk was eight years old, his father was sentenced to seven years imprisonment in Bautzen for his business activities and boycottism , so that Henryk lived without a father for a significant part of his youth.

Henryk first made an apprenticeship as a typesetter , which he broke off after a year. He then worked for five years at the Erfurt Theater as a stage worker, lighting technician and stoker. This was followed by high school diploma at the adult education center , studies of theater studies in Berlin and entry into the SED . From 1976 to 1978 he was employed again at the Erfurt Theater, now as a dramaturge .

He began his journalistic career as a culture editor for Neues Deutschland and Junge Welt . In 1987 he became deputy editor-in-chief of Filmspiegel . After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he initially worked as a freelancer and has been the culture editor of the Thüringer Allgemeine since 1991 . He also publishes articles in other media such as Das Blättchen or Getidan ( Filmspiegel's internet blog ) and takes part in numerous public discussion events. His regular weekend columns in the Thüringer Allgemeine , his articles on cultural and religious topics as well as his film and theater reviews also attract national attention.
