Herbert Dutzler (* 1958 in Schwanenstadt , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian teacher and crime writer.

Life

Dutzler grew up in Schwanenstadt and Bad Aussee and studied German and English at the University of Salzburg . He wrote his diploma thesis on the newer German crime novel of the 1970s and 1980s. He teaches German and English at the Bundesrealgymnasium Schloss Wagrain in Vöcklabruck and is also active in teacher training .

Dutzler was best known through the Altaussee regional crime novels about the clumsy police officer Franz Gasperlmaier and his resolute colleague Renate Kohlross from the district capital Liezen .
