Herbert Harlein
Herbert Härlein (born January 3, 1928 in Stuttgart , † November 20, 1996 in Borocay , Philippines ) was a German lawyer in Nuremberg.
Life
Herbert Härlein attended primary school in Stuttgart from 1934 to 1938. From 1938 he attended the Albrecht Dürer secondary school in Nuremberg. From February 1944 to March 1945 he had to do labor and military service as an air force helper before he graduated from high school in Albrecht Dürer in 1947.
From 1947 to 1951 Härlein studied law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg before taking the first state examination in 1951. After his legal traineeship from 1951 to May 1955, Herbert Härlein passed the second state examination in 1955. His time as an assessor lasted from 1955 to 1956, after which he became a lawyer and founded his own law firm.
In 1961, Härlein was admitted to the Nuremberg Local Court for the first time . He was admitted to the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court in 1961. In 1972 he was first elected to the Chamber Board of the Nuremberg Bar Association. From 1980 to 1990 Herbert Härlein was President of the Nuremberg Bar Association, then Honorary President from 1991.
During his tenure as President of the Nuremberg Bar Association, Härlein was committed to the Middle Franconian Legal Society. Towards the end of his tenure, as President of the Bar Association, he campaigned for the quick and sensible integration of lawyers who had worked in the GDR before reunification.

- Member of the Permanent Senate of the Conference of Presidents of the European Lawyers' Association

- 1992: Honorary citizen of the University of Erlangen Nuremberg

In the summer of 1985, as President of the Nuremberg Bar Association, Härlein received the result of the first search from the JURIS database with media coverage . This marked the beginning of the legal databases that are common today.
