Herbert Paalberg (born June 14, 1903 in Tallinn , Estonia Governorate ; † unknown) was an Estonian football player and coach as well as tennis instructor and bowling .

Career

Herbert Paalberg was born in Tallinn in 1903 . At a young age he already joined the JK Tallinna Kalev to do sports. He also studied at the Tallinn University of Technology . He completed his football career between 1922 and 1929 in his hometown with the JK Tallinna Kalev and the Tallinna JK . With Kalev Paalberg won the Estonian football championship in the 1923 season .

For the Estonian national team , he completed two internationals in 1929. One against Sweden in Landskrona Idrottsplats , as well as against Latvia during the Baltic Cup in 1929 .

As a volunteer , Paalberg fought for the Estonian Defense Forces in the war of freedom against Soviet Russia .

From 1922 to 1926 he worked in the Estonian Ministry of Transport. Later he was an official of the Estonian State Bank .

In 1944 he fled to Sweden via Gotland . He lived in Målilla and Västervik and worked as an office worker at Västerviks Träaktiebolag and from 1949 at Electrolux . Nothing is known about his further fate.
