Herbert Plaxton

Herbert Alfred Wellington Plaxton (born April 22, 1901 in Barrie , Ontario , † November 7, 1970 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player . At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team. His brother Hugh and his cousin Roger were also Olympic champions in ice hockey in 1928.

Career

For Canada , Herbert Plaxton took part in the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz , where he and his team won the gold medal. Together with his cousin Roger , in contrast to most of the Olympic team, he did not belong to the Toronto Varsity Grads, who had won the Allan Cup in 1927 , but his brother Hugh was able to convince national coach Conn Smythe of the qualities of the two. During the tournament, Herbert Plaxton played two games and scored two goals in a 14-0 win over Great Britain . After his career as an ice hockey player, Plaxton worked as a lawyer.
