Herbert Teubner

Herbert Teubner (* 1937 ) is a German chemist and local politician. From 1990 to 1991 he was mayor of the district town of Wernigerode am Harz .

Life

Born in Czechoslovakia , Teubner had to leave the Sudetenland with his parents in 1945 . The family settled in Naumburg (Saale) , where Teubner graduated from high school. In Leuna he completed an apprenticeship as a chemical technician. He then studied at the Technical University of Merseburg , where he obtained his diploma in 1962. Together with Professor Elmar Profft , he went to Wernigerode to the branch office for research and development of VEB Arzneimittelwerk Dresden . Herbert Teubner took over in 1970, this research center after 1968 at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg Dr. rer. nat. had received a doctorate. The topic of his dissertation is: Drug studies on 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethylpyrazolone- (5) -specifically investigation of the reactive behavior of the carbon atom in the 4-position.

Teubner became a member of the CDU . As a representative of this party, he officially assumed the office of mayor of Wernigerode on July 1, 1990, and succeeded Martin Kilian ( SED ). After just a few months, Teubner resigned from the mayor's office.
