The 2006/07 season was the 15th season of the Kazakh ice hockey professional league . Seven clubs took part in the competition. The title of Kazakh champion was secured for the 13th time by the Kaszink Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . At the same time, the Kazakh Ice Hockey Cup was held for the fifth time , won by HK Kasachmys Satpajew .

The seven participants played in a quadruple round, so that each team had the number of 24 games. The team with the most points secured the championship in the end.

For a win in the regular playing time of 60 minutes, a team received three points, the defeated opponent received nothing. In the event of a tie, it was the first time ever to go into extra time . If there was no goal and it remained a tie, each team received one point. If there was a hit, the winner received two points, the loser had to be satisfied with one.

After the end of the 24 rounds, Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk confidently secured the championship title with a 15-point lead over HK Kasachmys Satpajew . The Ust-Kamenogorsk team won 23 of their 24 games and won the runner-up title in the previous year.

Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk and HK Kasachmys Satpajew played in parallel in the second-rate Russian Wysschaja League during the season . The second teams Ust-Kamenogorsks and Karagandas as well as Barys Astana , Gornjak Rudny , the HK Saryarka Karaganda and HK Irtysch Pawlodar ran up in the third-rate Russian Perwaja League . In addition, the HK Kasachmys Satpajew took part in the IIHF Continental Cup in the 2006/07 season and reached the semifinals for the first time.
