Closing table
After the eight rounds, Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk secured the championship title just ahead of their own second team. The team from Ust-Kamenogorsk provided four of the five participants. After Stroitel Karaganda had disbanded after the 1995/96 season , Torpedo allowed the club's U18 and U17 juniors to participate in the championship alongside the first and second senior teams. The U18 juniors made the dominance of the club clear with their third place. The HK Bulat Temirtau , who attended the only other team in the championship, he only came in fourth place, which was only slightly ahead of the Under-17 Junior torpedoes.
Due to the dissolution of the International Hockey League in the summer of 1996 and the establishment of the Super League , it was no longer possible for the Kazakh clubs to be represented in the top Russian league. Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk therefore played in parallel in the second-rate Russian Wysschaja League during the season . Although a second rank in the main round, the team was not entitled to participate in the relegation round to the Super League. The second team Torpedos and the HK Bulat Temirtau were represented in the third class Pervaya League .
