The Kazakh Ice Hockey Cup 2007 was the sixth edition of the Kazakh ice hockey cup competition . The seven registered teams played the winner in a tournament between August 22nd and 27th, 2007. Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk secured the title of Kazakh Cup winner for the fourth time .

mode

The seven teams - including the U20 juniors from Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk - were divided into two groups of three and four teams. These played in a single round with two games in group of three A and three games in group of four B per team for the places in the group. The first two in each group qualified for the semi-finals and played the finalists there. The final winner won the title of Kazakh Cup Winner . Likewise, the two third-placed teams played out fifth place.

For a win in the regular playing time of 60 minutes, a team received three points, the defeated opponent received nothing. When winning in overtime or in the shootout , a team only received two points, while the loser still received one point.

Course of competition

On the six days of the tournament in Pavlodar , Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk won the title of cup winner for the fourth time. After a sovereign preliminary round, Kaszink eliminated defending champion HK Kasachmys Satpajew in the semifinals . In the final, Barys Astana was beaten by a goal from Sergei Alexandrov in extra time . Astana prevailed 3-2 in the semi-finals against Gornjak Rudny in extra time.
