The 2010 Kazakh Ice Hockey Cup was the eighth edition of the Kazakh ice hockey cup competition . The eight registered teams played the winner in a tournament between August 19 and 28, 2010. Gornjak Rudny secured the title of Kazakh Cup winner for the first time . It was the first ever national title win for the team from Rudny.

mode

The eight teams - including the second representative from Barys Astana - were divided into two groups of four teams. These played out the places in the group in a single round with three games per team. The first two in each group qualified for the semi-finals and played the finalists there. The final winner won the title of Kazakh Cup Winner . Likewise, the last two of the groups played out places 5 to 8 crosswise.

For a win in the regular playing time of 60 minutes, a team received three points, the defeated opponent received nothing. When winning in overtime or in the shootout , a team only received two points, while the loser still received one point.

Course of competition

On the ten days of the tournament in Öskemen , Gornjak Rudny was able to win the title for the first time. After a second place in the qualification phase, the team won the following two knockout duels.
