Herbert Zwahr (born January 6, 1922 ) is a former football player from the GDR .

He played for BSG Stahlwerk Riesa until 1952 . He then moved to the upper league for BSG Empor Lauter . For Empor Lauter, he completed 55 league games and scored 14 goals.

When the Empor Lauter players were delegated to the newly founded SC Empor Rostock in November 1954 , he went as one of twelve Empor players from the Ore Mountains to the Baltic Sea coast. When SC Empor Rostock played their first league game against Chemie Karl-Marx-Stadt in the Ostseestadion on November 14, 1954 , Zwahr was on the starting line-up.

Zwahr played for Hansa until 1956, completed a total of 27 league games and scored four goals. In addition, he came to two games in the FDGB Cup . In the final of the FDGB Cup in 1955 against SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt , he was substituted on in the second half and scored the 1-1 equalizer in the 46th minute of the game. In the end he lost the final with Hansa 2-3 after extra time.

Until 1957, Zwahr was a trainer at the BSG unit Rostock and rose with the team in the GDR league . Afterwards he belonged to the coaching collective of the SC Empor Rostock.
