Herberth E. Herlitschka

Herberth Egon Herlitschka (born December 26, 1893 in Vienna , † June 6, 1970 in Bern ) was an Austrian translator who was the first to translate numerous works of world literature for various publishers from English into German, especially in the post-war period . Before 1939 he translated foreign language literature, among others for Herbert Reichner Verlag (Vienna-Leipzig-Zurich) .

Herlitschka is best known for numerous translations of novels by Aldous Huxley and Thornton Wilder .
