The Hercules Firn Field is a firn field on the northern edge of the Mountaineer Range in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is bounded by the Deception Plateau , the Astronaut Glacier and the Retreat Hills, as well as by the Meander Glacier and the Gair Glacier , two western side glaciers of the Mariner Glacier .
The northern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1966-1967) named it after the Lockheed C-130 Hercules of the United States Navy , with which the group was transported and which ended up on the firn field.
