history
The Herder-Gymnasium Forchheim was founded in 1899 as a Progymnasium - then housed in the monastery. Today's main building was erected on it in 1903/1904. This neo-Renaissance building is one of the most beautiful buildings in Forchheim today. In 1961, parts of the film City Without Pity were shot in the old auditorium of the grammar school, which is now used as a cafeteria .
