Herenaeus Haid
Herenäus Haid (born February 15, 1784 in Geisenfeld , † January 7, 1873 in Munich ) was a German theologian , author and translator .
Life
Haid began studying theology with Johann Michael Sailer in Landshut in 1804 . After his ordination in 1807 he received his doctorate a year later. In 1813 he took over the chair for exegesis in St. Gallen. In addition to his work as a preacher, Haid became known for his publications on St. Peter Canisius , which included a biography as well as the publication of his writings.
His criticism, published in 1811 as a reform of the rosary, which he described in its then form as “mere battologie, vain babble”, did not do justice to this approach.
