Act

Selderhuis is regarded as an authority on Reformation research, especially in researching the person and theology of the Geneva reformer Johannes Calvin . Selderhuis tries to correct the image of Calvin as that of a sinister, puritanical fanatic by interpreting Calvin's actions from his biography and historical events. Selderhuis points out that Calvin occupies a less important position among the great reformers, for example compared to Luther. But its importance for Reformed theology is "more normative" than that of Luther for the Lutheran tradition.
