Aljaksej Michailawitsch Uharau ( Belarusian Аляксей Міхайлавіч Угараў , Russian Алексей Михайлович Угаров / Alexei Mikhailovich Ugarow; * 2. January 1985 in Minsk , Byelorussian SSR ) is a Belarusian ice hockey player who most recently at Severstal Cherepovets in the Continental Hockey League was under contract.
Career
Aljaksej Uharau began his career as a hockey player in the junior division of the Russian first division club Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , in which he was active until 2003. The attacker then moved to HK Junost Minsk , for whom he played in the Belarusian extra league in the following two years as well as for their youth team HK Junior Minsk . With HK Junost Minsk he won the Belarusian championship for the first time in the 2003/04 season . After he had also started the following season at Junost Minsk, the left shooter received a contract with his ex-club Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk, for which he was on the ice in the super league for the following three years . For the 2008/09 season , the national player moved to HK MWD Balaschicha in the newly founded Continental Hockey League , for which he was on the ice in the following two seasons. The left-handed shooter then spent the 2010/11 season at OHK Dynamo before being signed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in May 2011 .
During the expansion draft on June 17, 2013, Uharau was selected by Admiral Vladivostok and played there until the end of the 2015/16 season, where he completed more than 120 KHL games for Admiral. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he was under contract with Amur Khabarovsk before he was dismissed by Amur and moved to Severstal Tscherepowets in November 2016.
International
For Belarus , Uharau took part in the U20 Junior World Championship in 2005 , the World Championships in 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 and the 2010 Winter Olympics.
