Hermann-Josef Große Kracht

Hermann-Josef Große Kracht (* 1962 in Glandorf ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

After graduating from high school in Bad Iburg in 1981, he did his community service at the Caritas Association Osnabrück in 1981/82. He studied theology, sociology, pedagogy and philosophy at the PTH Sankt Georgen , where he obtained his bachelor's degree in philosophy, at the Instituto Theológico Franciscano and at the University of Münster , where he graduated in Catholic theology in 1988. From 1988 to 1993 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Kassel with Helmuth Rolfes and at the same time editor of the journal Communicatio Socialis . In 1991 he obtained an MA (sociology; minor subjects: philosophy, pedagogy), 1992 1st state examination for the teaching profession Sek I / II (Catholic religion / social studies), 1993 extension examination for the 1st state examination (history), 1996 extension examination for the 1st State examination (philosophy) and 1996 Dr. phil. From 1994 to 1996 he completed his legal clerkship at the Kassel II study seminar . As a teacher , he taught 1997-2000 at the Euroregion Comprehensive School. He was awarded the Georg Forster Prize of the University of Kassel in 1998 for his dissertation. When Karl Gabriel , he from 2000 to 2004 research assistant at the Institute for Christian Social Sciences at the University of Muenster and also editor of the Yearbook of Christian Social Sciences . He taught from 2004 to 2005 as a teacher at the Euregio Comprehensive School. Since 2008, he has been an academic councilor at the Institute for Theology and Social Ethics at the Technical University of Darmstadt . In 2009 he was awarded the venia legendi for the subject of Christian social sciences by the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Münster. In 2010 he was appointed Academic Senior Councilor at the Institute for Theology and Social Ethics and in 2013 was appointed adjunct professor by the President of the Technical University of Darmstadt.

His research interests are the history and theory of Catholic social doctrine, social and political Catholicism in Germany and Europe, comparative welfare state research: market, state, corporatism, ethics of the welfare state: industrial relations, welfare associations, social services, solidarity and justice theories on both sides of political liberalism and Religion and Politics in Contexts of Democracy Theory.
