Hermann-Josef Keyenburg

Hermann-Josef Keyenburg (born March 18, 1934 in Essen , North Rhine-Westphalia; † January 13, 2010 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) was a German art teacher, graphic artist and painter.

Career

From 1955 to 1962 he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and the University of Cologne . From 1961 to 1962 he received a French scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). From 1965 to 1979 Keyenburg was a teacher for art and German at grammar schools in Essen and most recently the head of art at the study seminar in Oberhausen. Since 1979 he lived in Mülheim an der Ruhr and was professor of art and its didactics at the University of Paderborn , where he continued to work after his retirement from 1999 to 2009. During this time he studied at the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris in Paris (1991–1994 and 2000), at the Progetto Civitella d 'Agliano in Italy (1997, 1999 and 2003) as well as in Portugal, Sardinia, Turkey and the Camargue.

Artistic work

  • Drawings, etchings, colored graphics and paintings in various private ownership.
  • Paintings for conference rooms of the University of Paderborn and for the Jenny-Aloni-Guesthouse.
  • Works in public collections: Rheinisches Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf, Landesmuseum Bonn, Städtisches Museum Oberhausen, Ministry of Culture North Rhine-Westphalia, City of Moers, City of Essen.
  • Works in public space:
    • Wall painting on the outside of the “Kunstsilo” in Paderborn (1982).

Awards

  • 1960 Prize from the Ernst Poensgen Foundation , Düsseldorf
  • 1988 First prize in the painting competition on the subject of "Big City Impressions" of the Art Gallery Düsseldorf, presented by Federal Minister Norbert Blüm .
