Hermann Lietz schools
Four German state educational homes are designated as Hermann Lietz schools , whose educational methods are based on the ideas of the pedagogue Hermann Lietz .
structure
According to the instructions of its founder Hermann Lietz , which was founded in 1898, the education and school structure in the rural education centers is based on the holistic education according to the motto of Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi "with head, heart and hand". A mainstay of the Lietz schools is, in addition to the normal subject lessons, the "home family", a group of around 8-10 students who live and work with a teacher. The educational work by the teachers in the home family is based on trust, tolerance, responsibility and the role model function of the elderly. Another mainstay are the extra-curricular, non-graded “guilds”, as well as the mandatory “practical work” to maintain boarding school operations.
organization
The lessons are based on the one hand on the state guidelines, but on the other hand also take into account the requirements of the constantly changing world of work. For usual range of advanced courses are served in the school in Castle Bieberstein an intensive course in economics at. In all four schools, modern media are used as interactive and innovative learning systems.
