Hermann Bleßmann

Hermann Bleßmann (born February 23, 1862 in Göttingen , † November 25, 1919 in Hanover ) was a German mayor .

biography

Bleßmann came from Göttingen, studied there and was a lawyer and then a syndic of Geestemünde. In 1889 he succeeded Heinrich Rabien as mayor of Geestemünde , which had a population of 15,426 at the time. During his tenure, which drove 1891 first tram Bremerhaven as a horse path on the George Street , another school was 1,892 at Schiffdorferdamm opened the new town hall was opened at the former railway station (today Klußmannstraße) in 1894 and 1896 it was the fish hall I.
He was succeeded in 1899 as Mayor Wilhelm Klussmann in office.

Honors

Bleßmannstrasse, a cross street off Rheinstrasse , was named after him.
