Hermann Borrmann
Hermann Friedrich Oskar Borrmann (born July 16, 1911 in Lemwerder , † May 18, 1998 in Cuxhaven ) was a German city archivist, local history researcher, author and teacher.
biography
Borrmann grew up in Bremen . He studied education and economics in Hamburg and Vienna. From 1934 to 1940 he worked as a teacher in Bremen. In 1940/41 he was seconded to Lißniewo and Karthaus in the Danzig district as a teacher. Here he also worked in the district and state picture office and in the state picture archive. He was a soldier from 1942 to 1945.
In 1945 Borrmann moved to Cuxhaven and worked as a primary school teacher at the Gorch Fock School until 1976 and as a special school teacher and special school principal at the Wichernschule.
From 1948 to 1969 he was also head of the cityscape department and from 1972 to 1989 city archivist of Cuxhaven. He published numerous books dealing with Cuxhaven.
