Hermann Etter

Hermann Etter (born December 28, 1870 in Rottweil ; † October 11, 1934 in Schwenningen ) was a German doctor and member of parliament in Württemberg.

Life

As a one-year volunteer, Etter served six months with the Royal Bavarian 9th Infantry Regiment "Wrede" in Würzburg. He enrolled at the Eberhard Karls University for Medicine. Through his father and brother he came to the Corps Rhenania Tübingen , which reciprocated him on July 27, 1890 . After 13 scales inactivated , he spent some time at the University of Würzburg . He returned to Tübingen and passed the state examination there. In 1899 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. After working for a long time as an assistant doctor in the Marienhospital in Stuttgart and in the Friedrichsberg lunatic asylum in Hamburg , he served the second half of his military service with the field artillery regiment "King Karl" (1st Württembergisches) No. 13 in Ulm.

In 1899 he settled as a general practitioner in Schramberg . From 1901 in Schwenningen, from 1904 to 1914 he was also hospital director, town and school doctor, for over 30 years column doctor of the medical column, member of the state medical committee and the citizens' committee. During the First World War he was battalion and regimental doctor with the Württemberg Landwehr Infantry Regiment 119 ( 26th Landwehr Division ) and the Württemberg Infantry Regiment No. 479 ( 243rd Infantry Division ). On September 7, 1918 he was promoted to senior staff doctor. He joined the German Democratic Party and was elected to the state parliament in 1918. In 1919 he was a member of the state constitutional assembly for the state parliament of the free people of Württemberg .

He was married to Clara born in 1900 . Mauthe from Schwenningen. With her he had four daughters. After his death, the Mauthe company (watch manufacturer) , on whose supervisory board he was a member, set up a Dr. Hermann Etter Memorial Foundation.
